These are primarily some pictures from one of my favorite web sites, the Monroe County, Fl. (Florida Keys) Sherriff’s Office. This may possibly be the most bizarre law enforcement web site anywhere. This is due to the eccentric assortment of residents in the keys, and also due to the relatively large budget the Sherriff’s dept. has as a result of income from some very large drug busts. It has effects I haven’t seen on any other similar site, with extensive use of animation and graphics effects. Due to my bleeding heart liberal nature, I’ve edited most identifying information for this selection of mug shots. Oh yes. The site gained some notoriety recently for posting a false mug shot of Eminem. There are two explanations, one that the site was hacked, which the Sherriff’s Department emphatically denies, and another that claims that the Eminem information was entered by a trainee during instruction, and not deleted. The latter may actually be more damaging.
