Key West woman allegedly bites 6-foot-2 Philly man
keysnews.com
A man was allegedly attacked and bitten repeatedly by a female stranger early Thursday morning in front of Rick's Bar on Duval Street. Ms. X, 22 and 5-foot-10, was arrested for felony battery and affray in connection with the incident, which occurred in front of several witnesses and reportedly left the victim -- described by a witness as 6-foot-2 -- with large bruises on his chest. Police reports indicate the victim, a 23-year-old Philadelphia man, was standing in front of Rick's Bar with friends when he was approached by Ms. X and suddenly attacked. In the report, the victim states in a sworn statement that Ms. X dismounted from her bike, came up to him and started getting "forceful," shoving him. He states he did not retaliate against the shoves. The victim said after Ms. X pulled him to the ground, she "latched her teeth" into his left chest and would not let go. He said he tried to separate himself from her while she continued to bite him, and that she continued to approach him after he was able to release himself from her grasp. One witness, who said he took pictures of the incident as it occurred, said after allegedly attacking the victim, Ms. X approached another man and tried to provoke another fight. The victim called police, and Officer Tara Koenig was flagged down by several witnesses at Rick's. Koenig states in the report that she approached Ms. X, who was lunging at a bystander, screaming at him and waving her arms. Koenig detained Ms. X in the patrol car, and when she relayed to her why she was being arrested, Ms. X allegedly said, "I don't remember biting anyone. I don't remember anything." The victim went to the emergency room, where he received a tetanus shot and antibiotics. (Back To Top)

The Story of Brandi X., or “Brandi, You’re a Fined Girl!”
- keysnews.com
A Key West woman arrested for reckless driving and resisting arrest reportedly told police she had to put the pedal to the metal because her transmission was broken, and denies statements recorded in the police report that she laughed at police.
Brandi X., 39, was pulled over by Officer Dan Allen around 4 a.m. early Monday morning after the officer followed her car on a near-disastrous trail. According to the report, Allen noticed a car with smoking, squealing tires leaving the intersection of Truman Avenue and White Street. It came to an abrupt halt and reportedly almost crashed into a parked car.
When Allen caught up to the car -- driven by Brandi X. -- she took off again, allegedly almost crashing into the car in front of her, then changing lanes in close traffic without signaling a turn and nearly hitting three moving vehicles.
When Allen pulled the car over, Brandi X. reportedly drove it over the curb, out of control with the tires off the ground.
The report states that Brandi X. was laughing at first -- a statement which Brandi X. denies -- and that she became hostile toward the officer, engaging in a struggle before being arrested.
Brandi X. stated she has "hired a lawyer," and that the police searched her car after the arrest and "ripped it apart." She said she plans to approach the Civilian Review Board. (Back To Top)
